When my friend Sally lost her hair during chemotherapy, she often wore turbans. One in particular was so comfortable that she asked me if I could make more like it. I was able to devise a pattern, and from it made a number of turbans.

Sally enjoyed her turbans so much that a group of ladies at the Aldie Untied Methodist Church decided to help others undergoing chemotherapy. One night we gathered to make kits containing a turban, fabric samples and a pattern with instructions-and sent the kits to church groups in our area. The response was so positive that we've sent out turban kits to other states.

Sally died this past January, but her spirit lives on. Our women's group still makes the turban kits for chemotherapy patients, and we remember Sally with love as we work.
